Although it has a similar concept to sushi rolls, Gimbap is usually seasoned with sesame oil and filled with meat and other ingredients like kimchi and cheese. Like most of the unique food in Jeju, there are creative variations of gimbap to try as well. They are great for breakfast or as a hiking snack.

Haenyo Gimbap is located along Hamden beach and you can look out to the sea view as you eat. The name Haenyo is a tribute to the women in Jeju who dive in the sea to harvest shellfish while holding their breaths.
